Programmes of study

Level 3 students

• Year 12 – A one year course at AS level.  This may include, or be completely made up of, BTEC National Diploma courses.

• Year 13 – A one year course at A2 level.  This may include, or be completely made up of, BTEC National Diploma courses.

In Year 12 A level students will generally study 4 AS courses.  At the end of Year 12 you will review your choices for Year 13.

BTEC National students may study one or two subject areas.

Level 1 / 2 students

A one year course.

At Level 2 you may choose ONE or TWO subjects

You may follow a full BTEC First Diploma course (equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A - C) in one subject

Or you may be able to combine 2 subjects by ding 2 BTEC First Certificate courses (equivalent to 2 GCSEs at grades A-C).

At Level 1 you will follow a BTEC Introductory Diploma course in Vocational Studies (equivalent to 4 GCSES at grades D – F).  You will also follow an extended period of work placement

ALL students will follow an additional programme which will consist of some of the following elements:

• Tutorial programme
• Literacy and Numeracy
• GCSE retakes – Maths, English, Science
• Extension Studies
• Project
• PE activities
• Community/Voluntary work
• AS Further Maths
• Learning mentoring
• First Aid
• Sports Leadership
