About Courses

BTEC Level 1 / 2 Students

A one year vocational course which will include at least one work experience placement.

At Level 2 you may choose ONE or TWO subjects.

You may follow a full BTEC First Diploma course (equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A-C) in one subject.

Or you may be able to combine two subjects by adding two BTEC First Certificate courses (equivalent to 2 GCSEs at grades A-C).

At Level 1 you will follow a BTEC Introductory Diploma course in Vocational Studies (equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades D-F). You will also follow an extended period of work placement.

ALL students will follow an additional programme which will consist of some of the following elements:

Literacy and Numeracy
GCSE retakes – Math’s and English
Extension Studies
Language courses
PE activities
Community/Voluntary work
BTEC Units in Pharmacy and Dentistry
AS Further Math’s
Learning mentoring
First Aid
Sports Leadership

Level 2 Courses
At Level 2, you can choose one of these BTEC First Diploma courses. Success at this level can lead on to appropriate A level courses. Work experience placements are integral to these courses and can lead to an additional Level 2 qualification –BTEC Work skills award.
