Course components/units/outline:
Students study a range of units covering Arabic language, literature and culture. There is some flexibility in the course, allowing students to follow their interests and strengths.
How is this course assessed?
Students build on their prior knowledge and are assessed through written exams, with one unit for AS and another for A2. Students completing AS level will then choose to continue with the A2.
Where could this course lead?
Students may wish to continue their language learning in further education.
Many careers and further education courses value a qualification in languages at AS or A2 level.
Examples include: business, healthcare, travel and tourism, customer service and teaching. Students find that skills developed through studying Arabic as AS/A2 are transferable to other courses and career paths.

Many students who have studied languages at AS and A2 have gained entry to university on the strength of their languages results. Many skills that are gained though learning a language to AS/A2 level are transferable to other courses and career paths.
