Course components/units/outline:
Unit 1:
Introduction to Critical Thinking
The language of reasoning - identifying the component parts of an argument.
Credibility - assessing the claims made by individuals and organisations.

Unit 2: Assessing and Developing Argument
Analysis and evaluation – evidence, flaws, analogies etc
Developing structured, coherent arguments in response to stimulus material

How is this course assessed?
Two 1 hour 30 minute exams

Where could this course lead?
Critical Thinking is a skills-based qualification which can impact positively on many other subjects and careers, including Law, Medicine, Philosophy, Psychology etc.
