This course could lead to a career in a wide range of areas, including town planning, working for the Government, scientific research, environmental work, meteorology, teaching, the armed forces, police service and industries linked to travel and tourism.
There are a wide range of university courses that follow on from AS/A2 study of Geography, where students can specialise in specific topics such as environmental management, Geographical Information Systems, physical and human geography. Employers value Geography qualifications due to the wide range of skills that are developed as part of the course.
These include communication, data analysis, drawing out conclusions, evaluation and developing a range of methods to collect information. These are transferable skills, making Geographers very employable!
